Description
*I'll post some more pics of these little ones eventually
But, I came across something I've been considering for a while now. Hermann's Tortoises. They are even SMALLER than Russians and have a very similar husbandry requirements And not a bad price at all actually, half the price of an online turtle and tortoise provider! And whats more? My boyfriend and I picked out these 2: the bigger one being 6 months old and mine is the small one there who is 3 months old (this puts her, probably hatching around my own birthday!)
And yeah, they are just all around adorable and good eaters. One strange thing I learned is that they like burrowing, actually if they are not taking laps looking for food or relieving themselves (usually in their tiny little water dish) they are burrowed half way into their substrate in under their light! Mine is named Olive (because from the educated guess of the breeder, he thinks female) and my boyfriends isn't named because we cant agree on something (yea I get a say because I'm taking care of him most right now). He's looking like a boy btw.
They are settling in nicely, bringing my count to be: 5 Russian Torts, 2 Hermanns Torts and 3 Razorback Musks that live in my room!!! haha (And then you know, the RiverTurtle )
